Welcome Pastor Rey Guevara!

The Guevara Family

Reynaldo Guevara is our new Pastor and officially started on July 1.  Rey comes to us from the Montebello United Methodist Church where he was an Assciate Pastor.

Rey is 33 years old.  He was born in El Salvador and came to the United States when he was 10-years old.  He holds a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from La Verne.  Rey is bilingual. (He also has a class B drivers license and can drive a 15 passenger van!)  He has a lot of experience in family and marital counseling, coordinating after-school programs, and networking with local schools and social services programs. Rey will fit nicely into our Youth and Family Ministries.

Rey is married to Kellie, and the father of a wonderful two year old daughter.  He likes to spend time with family and friends.  They enjoy camping and fishing.

Welcome to Rey and his wonderful Family!

David Beadle's 80th Birthday Service and Celebration
Sunday, August 1, 10:00 a.m.

There will be only one service on August 1, as we celebrate Dave's 80th birthday.  This is a "hymn-a-long" service with Dixieland music provided by the Night Blooming Jazzman.  We will have birthday cake in the Fellowship Hall right after the service.  Dave specifically requested: "NO Gifts Please!"

Dave was senior pastor at AUMC from 1976-1985.  After his retirement, Dave returned to help us on several occasions, sometimes for several months.  Dave was named Pastor Emeritus of AUMC in 2009.

Let's all join Dave, Judy and the whole family in celebrating his first 80 years!

Closing Celebration and Dinner - Friday, 6:00 pm!

Can You Help? . . . Supplies needed for Vacation Bible School . . .

We need aluminum pie pans, one-gallon ice cream plastic tubs, one-gallon plastic milk jugs, and large brown paper bags.  If you are able to share any of these items for VBS, please bring them to the church office no later than Sunday, August 1.

Thank You!

Join Pastor Don on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday in August from 7:00-8:30pm for a special Adult Study...

August 10 - He will share some thoughts on the United Methodist Church and how it compares with other traditions of the Christian faith.  He will also point out some distinctive emphases in the United Methodist Church.

August 24 - He will share some reflections on John Wesley, the "founder" of our tradition of faith.  He will present a biographical sketch of the man as well as elements of his thoughts.
