Second Harvest Food Bank is working to eliminate hunger in Orange County. The group solicits and coordinates
donations, grants, fundraising, food drives, food rescue, harvesting and
volunteers to supply food, education and advocacy for the hungry
through non-profit partners and direct feeding programs. We constantly
seek innovative cost effective ways to reach people. Under the guidance of the
Council of Orange, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Food Bank began
providing food for the hungry in October 1983. Since 1983, the Food Bank
has provided more than 272 million pounds of donated and surplus food
to local charities.
