UPDATE, August 18th 2021:
UPDATE, August 4th 2021: Thank you to all who have donated so far! We continue to encourage those who can to support this important fundraiser with any amount that is comfortable to you, especially as the true cost might be more than our original quote. We have made great strides so far in reaching our goal; we are currently at $21,000 pledged.
Your Trustee Committee is working closely with our heating and cooling vendor to secure a replacement unit. We are also seeking other bids in the hopes to get a better price or quicker installation.
A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is a glimpse of our illustrious Fellowship Hall HVAC that has served us well for so long.
Among other problems, this skylight in the foreground is causing some design issues. The skylight is in the way of part of a modern 20 ton Carrier unit. So they have to figure out a work-around solution or pick a different HVAC from another manufacturer, like Trane or York. Just a bit of look into the behind-the-scenes work.

Dear AUMC family, Greetings! It is our hope that you are having a day full of blessings. Being an important part of our family, we would like to tell you about an urgent fundraiser.
As you may already know, the 40-year-old air conditioner for the Fellowship Hall has stopped working. Unfortunately right before the Rummage Sale!
In a bid to raise funds for replacing this air conditioner, we are prayerfully asking for everyone to consider helping with this unbudgeted expense. We are targeting a goal of $25,000 to cover most of the estimated cost.
To help kick start the campaign, Reon Howard has generously contributed $2,000. Thank you, Reon! Even if you can’t make a large gift, know that every little bit helps. It’s more about coming together as a community united behind a common cause.
Use the memo “Fellowship Hall A/C” on your check donations, either mailed to the office or in your Sunday offering. For more information about the project, feel free to contact John Duff at trustees@anaheimumc.org.
Just ask your friends in the Circle of Hope that are setting up for the rummage sale what it can be like in that room without air conditioning. The Fellowship Hall is an important gathering place for us. I think we all have stories to share of excellent teas,
gatherings, Thanksgiving lunches, rummage sales, and the like in that room. Not only that, but the church earns a fair amount of income on renting that room to outside groups. This fundraiser goes directly to supporting these gatherings.
Thank you for your unwavering support.
Sincerely,
John Duff (Trustees chair) and Vicky Cook (Finance chair)
