News from Pastor Nicole
Hello AUMC Family,
I would like to share some news, though some of you will have already heard this news Monday during Church Council. October 10th will be my last day with AUMC, as I will be moving to New York City.
This has been a season of discernment for me in my personal and professional life. Through this discernment, I have decided that NYC is the next stop on my journey where I will be with my partner and seek new career possibilities. I will begin this journey (a long one since I’m driving) the end of October.
I am sad to be leaving my family here in Anaheim, because you have all been so welcoming. AUMC is unique because out of all the churches I have been a part of, y’all have the fiercest sense of community and ownership. You ask the hard questions like “how can we better serve our community?” and have the hard conversations like those surrounding LGBTQ inclusion… all without letting the differences divide you. This is something that you should all be immensely proud of. I am proud to call you the church that helped me to get ordained, that saw my ministerial gifts and affirmed them, and had the patience to teach me how to be a minister to a community of worshippers. You will always be in my heart, and I hope to see you all soon when I am back for the holidays!
News from Staff Parrish Relations
Reception | Sunday, October 6th | 11:30 am | Fellowship Hall
Staff Parrish Relations Committee will be hosting a reception to thank Pastor Nicole for her time with us.
Her legacy at AUMC includes the Blessing of the Animal service (the featured photo of this post), the Gather worship service, and the book studies.
We will miss her presence, but know God will continue to bless her as she seeks a new path for her life.
