We would like to share our deepest gratitude to the members of the Circle of Hope. Their financial support allowed AUMC to continue the annual Backpacks for Katella High School Drive. With the continued impacts of COVID-19, we knew it was likely that even more students would need supplies this year. We were concerned about asking the congregation to go out and shop for donations, so Circle of Hope stepped in to continue our tradition.
In recent years, the congregation would donate items, and the Vacation Bible School students would pack the backpacks. VBS children were excited to pack the backpacks. We look forward to being able to do this community project in this manner in the future.
Cheri Smith and Pastor MJ hit the stores to shop for all the items on the list provided by Katella HS. From notebooks to highlighters, they got 100 of each of the requested items. After purchasing everything, we had money left over. With this remaining money, we will be purchasing scientific calculators (which are needed and quite expensive).
Circle of Hope’s Annual Rummage Sale is the primary source of the funds. Thank you to all who help make this Sale a success each year! Your work on the sale allowed us to continue the students of Katella HS.
If you missed the blessing of these supplies during our recent online worship service, you can watch it below.
Blessings,
