Christmas Caroling Update

On December 19th we were able to return to our annual Christmas Caroling to the church’s neighborhood.

Led by the first time by our new Minister of Music Herman Hope, a group from the church accompanied by James on guitar walked almost two miles around the neighborhood across from Wagner.

Thanks to Herman posting flyers throughout the community a few days before, many families came out and listened to the carolers. After being refreshed by cookies and cocoa, the group went to Addie’s Cottage, a Board and Care close to AUMC to sing to the residents there. This is the same Board and Care facility where Pastor MJ gives a weekly worship service. The ladies there were very appreciative and the carolers were offered cocoa and cookies. A joyful time was had by all. Below are a few words from Herman Hope:

COVID took away our chance to celebrate Christmas as a community in 2020. It was wonderful for AUMC to be able to spread the love and joy of Christ throughout the nearby neighborhood and at Addies Cottage through the gift and beauty of music and caroling, bringing back Christmas in style!
