Gather Worship Service Project

Last Wednesday, Gather Worship joined with the Neighbors in Need Pantry for a service project! We all met in the East Building at 7PM for a shorter version of our Gather Worship service, where we joined in singing, prayer, and discussion together. Then, thanks to the leadership of Lee Strohm and Kathy Ramsey, all 15 or so of us stayed until 9PM to help pack boxes for the following day. All together, we packed about 50 boxes! That might sound like a lot (and it is), but the volunteers at the pantry regularly distribute about 150 boxes of food every week. Each box was packed lovingly with quality pantry staples and treats.

It was a wonderful experience fellowshipping with one another, but also doing tangible work to serve our community and help the Neighbors in Need Pantry lighten their packing load. If you have not stopped by the East Building to see our amazing volunteers in action, I encourage you to do so! They are on campus faithfully each week sorting food donations, ensuring the shelves are stocked, and packing boxes for pick up.

The Gather team will be making service projects a focus of our worship and ministry, and will be working closely with the Neighbors in Need pantry to support their work as well. If you would like to be a part of Gather worship, all are welcome to attend each Wednesday at 7PM in the East Building, and we have a Zoom option if you would prefer. Please email me at mollyr@anaheimumc.org if you would like more information about Gather Worship, the Neighbors in Need pantry, or if you have ideas for future service projects. We would love to have you join us to reach out in love to our neighbors and serve our community.
