Thank you all for your prayers as I underwent knee replacement surgery. Everything went well.

The past few days have been painful, but each day is a little less painful. Continue to pray that my rehab goes as planned and that I can be with you as soon as possible.

I'm back!

This prayer request is for ANTHONY'S sister, Tina. She is dealing with several

health issues. Presently, Tina is undergoing surgery & perhaps more, to remove

breast cancer. I think Tina is about 50. Lives locally and would appreciate your

prayers of healing, as she also has fibromialgia & other health problems.

Anthony & I thank you very much for your continued prayers.

Dear Prayer Chain Angels. . . .

Today I spoke with an ex-long time next door neighbor.

We've lost track of each other & have reconnected, only to find out

that ANTHONY, a son, has in the past few years lost his brother, then

his father, then another brother. ANTHONY quit his job of 25 years

to be his mother, Helen's, full time extensive, caregiver.

He is overwhelmed and welcomes all of your prayers to keep him going.

Anthony has been an angel for his Mom, who has worsened Alzheimer's.

We were so happy to talk.

Praise God for Anthony!

Thank you in advance for all of your prayers.

I’m also asking for ongoing prayers for my brother, Gary. Gary is 60 years old and schizophrenic. After 30 years of sobriety and living well and treating his schizophrenia, he began drinking again and became homeless in February of this year. He has paranoia and no longer believes he’s schizophrenic. Gary was put in a locked facility in Torrance in April and was transferred to a new facility in Downey at the end of May. Now, even though his paranoia has not gotten any better, the facility is trying to release him. I do what I can for him, but unfortunately our family has no legal authority to advocate on his behalf. Gary is no longer capable of taking care of himself, please pray that he will be kept in a facility and taken care of.

We ask for ongoing prayers for our friends Dana and Vance. Vance went back to work not too long ago after undergoing chemo and radiation treatment for throat and tongue cancer. Now Dana will be starting treatment for breast cancer.

Let us give thanks for Frank Espinosa who has sung beautifully for our church for several years, and has been blessed to continue his vocal arts at Boston University this fall. Last Sunday Frank treated us to a final solo in worship. Thanks, Frank! Our prayers go with you!

Thank you all for the many prayers, cards and calls!

Finally have a bit of good news...

Yesterday I had the stitches and bandages removed from my shoulder. I'm not out of the woods just yet; but on my way.

My surgeon said there was excessive damage to my shoulder so recovery may be longer than anticipated.

My rotator cuff was completely detached from my shoulder so Dr. Fan had to reattach it.

He clipped the bicep because repair would complicate the recovery. The only reason they would opt to repair it is if it were an athletic injury (and it's not like I'm a professional baseball pitcher so repairing it would be unnecessary).

There was excessive arthritis in my shoulder (tell me something I don't already know - it's been that way for too many years to count). But what surprised me is he said he shaved my shoulder bone "to clean it up". I've never heard of such a thing but if it helps the constant pain in my shoulder I'm all for it!

Seems like I lucked out because it appears to me this guy went above and beyond.

Next up is physical therapy (surprise surprise)... My insurance should contact me with that information within a week or so; Dr. Fan put in the order before I left my appointment yesterday.

I cannot lift anything (until further notice). I can't raise my left arm above my chest - because if I do my rotator cuff could come loose. Check! Got it! I'm not going there ever again if I have anything to say about it!

Looking forward to getting past this and on the mend! Thanks again XOXOXO

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Last Friday I got the "all clear". I am cancer free, all my numbers are very low and where we would hope they would be. Next is three weeks of radiation, then hormone blockade meds for five years and that will put me at a less than three percent chance of reoccurance. I can't say how grateful I am for AUMC prayers and support for us throughout this process. You are an amazing group and I feel so blessed to be part of this wonderful congregation.

Love to you all,

Chris and Jim

Big prayers for Tom & Marcie, as they struggle with frustration as their home, inside and yard have been jackhammered up, due to a leak. Kitchen, bath & bedrooms with piles of dirt! Lots of hangups.

Please pray for me this coming Monday, June 7th. I will be having total knee replacement surgery.

Ask our Lord to bless and guide the surgical team, and all those who care for me. May I remain motivated during physical therapy and my recovery be uneventful.

I would like prayers for my nephew Tyler who is having complications from a medical issue that occurred in December. Prayers that the doctors have the wisdom to determine what is wrong and find a good treatment plan. And prayers for strength for my bother and sister-in-law as they support and advocate for Tyler.

Thank you ChurchFamily for the prayers and concerns for my back surgery. I've been cared for at home by St. Sue and St. Matthew, "waited on hand and foot" as the old folks say. I've passed my 2-week post-surgery visit with the surgeon and got flying colors on my X-rays and healing. The PA at that appointment called me, Rock Star of Recovery. I look like a mere shadow of my former self having lost 30 pounds; Sue says, "unfortunately I found it." I'm progressing from using a walker to a cane or walking stick on my 30-minute walks each day. I have no pain in the back, which was the reason for the surgery, so the recovery time is for the healing of the added hardware and incision. Prayers of Thanks to you all!
