Reflection of the Week
Highlights of Worship: June 6th 2021
How good it is to gather once again this coming Sunday for in-person worship! We’ve been away from the church sanctuary so long, bigger questions may come to mind like, “What defines us as a church, anyway? The building? This particular group of people?…”
In this week’s scripture, Mark 3:31-35, Jesus defines the Family of God as a gathering of all who share the common purpose of following God’s will. The message, “A New Family,” is about the identity we share, whoever we may be, when we actively serve God and neighbor every day.
Please join us for Holy Communion, prayer, and song (yes, we can now sing with masks on!), or catch the live-streamed service to be emailed to you Sunday morning.
God’s Health and Peace,
Pastor James
Scripture Passages of the Week
Mark 3:31-35
Then his mother and his brothers came; and standing outside, they sent to him and called him. A crowd was sitting around him; and they said to him, ‘Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, asking for you.’ And he replied, ‘Who are my mother and my brothers?’ And looking at those who sat around him, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.’
