Hunger Ministry is blessed!

Hunger Ministry is blessed! We have been blessed with a great amount of free food to serve the needs of our families, though we still have needs with our homeless Lunches of Love.

Today Kathy, Sandie, and Kayla picked up over 700 pounds of food from two local Walmart stores. Lee picked up over 600 pounds of food from our weekly Second Harvest Food Bank pick up.

Yesterday Kathy and Mike Owen packed 50 food boxes for families. Mike McCune packed 15 Lunches of Love and delivered 10 family boxes to Ponderosa Park Family Resource Center.

In the past month we received a new upright freezer to store the frozen items we receive from Walmart and Second Harvest. This was a truly generous donation from a church member, as well as, a much needed resource.

The Hunger Ministry of AUMC has truly expanded due to the overwhelming needs of our community. We have gone from serving 100-150 individuals per month to over 350 per month. If it were not for our partnership with Second Harvest and Walmart we would not have the resources to meet the demand of those in need.

If it were not for our dedicated volunteers that help pick-up, unload, sort, restock, pack, deliver, and distribute we would not be able to meet the needs of those who visit each Thursday from 11 am until 1 pm. Provisions would like to thank Kathy Ramsey, Sandie Duff, Kayla Lucero, Serena Dollins, Nancy Cromer, Mike Owen, Mike McCune, Bill Fanning, Vicky Cook, John Duff, Cheri Smith, Martha Sanchez, Luis Sanchez, and Julissa Sanchez. Please forgive us if we have missed thanking you for your time.

We have some photos we would like to share with you. Please enjoy!
