The Hunger Ministry promo video was shown during the October 11th online worship service. The Provision Team is excited to share it with everyone here!
Each week volunteers come to unload, stock, pack, and distribute food. We have gone from one volunteer doing it all when COVID-19 first hit to a solid team of volunteers ready to step in at a moment’s notice. We cannot say thank you enough to those who make this ministry thrive. The Provisions Team welcomes anyone to come and check out what we are doing (read more and sign up to observe/volunteer here). If you feel passionate about what you see while observing/lending a hand, we would enthusiastically welcome you to the team!
We are constantly thankful to Second Harvest of OC, Christine at Walmart 3101, and Marianne at Walmart #3099 who donate the food that fills our pantry. Our ministry would not be as robust without their generosity. We have wonderful relationships with our partners and truly appreciate their commitment to reducing food insecurity. The wonderful partnership with our local Walmart Neighborhood Markets has the added benefit of decreasing food waste.
The gratitude shared by our neighbors each week is heart-swelling. Smiles and hearty “God Bless You” are common. Each week we see new families and begin building relationships. Though we wish so many of our neighbors were not in need, we are glad to serve.
We hope you enjoy seeing and hearing a bit more about what the Provisions Team has been doing. We want you to know that though we have not gathered in person to worship each week, the AUMC campus continues to be vital to our community. AUMC continues to live our mission to: Reach Out, Serve, and Invite with the Love of Jesus Christ. Please keep our church, our hunger ministry, and, most importantly, our neighbors in your daily prayers.
