Neighbors in Need Pantry Thanksgiving Donations

The AUMC Neighbors in need pantry is in need of your donations! Since Thanksgiving is coming up, the pantry would love to provide some special boxes to those who come each week to receive food.

The Neighbors in Need Pantry will be handing out Thanksgiving food boxes to all recipients on Thursday November 18th. If you would like to donate any food to help make sure our families can have a nice Thanksgiving, we are asking for the following items by November 14th:

  • stuffing mix
  • instant mashed potatoes
  • canned corn
  • packaged or canned gravy
  • canned chicken broth
  • canned cranberry sauce

Other helpful donations year-round include clean, one-dozen sized egg cartons or clean plastic grocery bags.

Additionally, the Gather worship service hosted each Wednesday at 7PM has expressed their desire to include service projects regularly in worship. The first service project will be helping to pack these Thanksgiving boxes! We will be packing boxes next Wednesday, November 10th, during our regularly scheduled worship service. We will have a shortened version of our usual service and then will set to work putting these special boxes together. Everyone is welcome to join in! If you would like to come and help, please attend the Gather service on November 10th.

Please bring any donation items to the East Building on Tuesdays or Wednesdays 10AM-12PM, Thursdays from 10AM-2PM, or the church office Monday through Thursday from 9AM-3PM. If you have any questions, if you would like to volunteer to help at the pantry, or if you or someone you know can benefit from a food box, please contact either Sandie Duff or Lee Strohm for more details.
